About Susan Hunter
This will be short, because I’m not entirely convinced that readers are all that interested in the writer behind the story. And why should you be? After all, you’re here because of Leah Nash and her world, not me and mine. But, in case you’re a little curious, here’s the rundown on me.
I enjoy people, but preferably two or three at a time. I can handle large groups and public speaking, but unlike an extrovert, I find large social gatherings exhausting rather than energizing. One of the bonuses of being a friend of mine is that you’ll never have to feel guilty about canceling out on social plans with me. I really, really mean it when I say, “Don’t worry about it. I’m fine staying home with a book.”
I live in a small town in a rural area in Michigan, with my husband Gary, who is the consummate extrovert. I have two lovely daughters and one ugly one. No, just kidding. Just the two, and they both are lovely. I spent some years as a reporter and then as a managing editor at a small daily newspaper. From there I moved on to work at a university in publications and marketing, and I taught a few writing classes as well.
I am super happy now to be able to go to work in my pajamas if I choose.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually reading, watching old movies, talking to friends or family, eating something I shouldn’t, or staring out the window at the river that runs past our house. In the section of this website titled Readers Ask, Susan Answers I tackle some of the questions I get asked most frequently by readers. If you have any questions of your own, feel free to send them to me directly at susanhunter@leahnashmysteries. I love hearing from readers, and I answer every email I receive.
