About Susan Hunter

This will be short, because I’m not entirely convinced that readers are all that interested in the writer behind the story. And why should you be? After all, you’re here because of Leah Nash and her world, not me and mine. But, I’ve been persuaded to give at least a short run down on myself.

I enjoy people, but preferably two or three at a time. As a functional introvert, I can handle large groups and public speaking, but unlike an extrovert, I find large social gatherings exhausting rather than energizing. One of the bonuses of being a friend of mine is that you’ll never have to feel guilty about cancelling out on social plans with me. I really, really mean it when I say, “Don’t worry about it. I’m fine staying home with a book.”

Being an author is a perfect career choice for me. I like engaging with people via email or social media, from the comfort of my couch, often while I’m wearing my pajamas. It was not always so. I spent some years as a reporter and editor, then worked in publications and marketing, both of which were heavy on the public interaction side.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually reading, watching old movies, talking to friends or family, or staring out the window at the river that runs past our house. In the section of this website titled Readers Ask, Susan Answers I tackle some of the questions I get asked most frequently by readers. If you have any questions of your own, feel free to send then to me directly at susanhunter@leahnashmysteries. I love hearing from readers, and I answer every email I receive.
